Nosferatu: a Symphony of Horror with live soundtrack performance by Minima

Nosferatu is the original Dracula movie - and still, after eighty years, the scariest. F W Murnau's visionary direction and the chilling performance of Max Schreck in the title role make this an undeniable masterpiece.
From The Big Chill and Latitude Festivals, London's Barbican Centre and Bristol's Arnolfini gallery, to being regulars at the Shunt Vaults in London, Minima are a must-see outfit, fast becoming a staple on the live music and film scene. Proof of Minima's wide and growing appeal comes in the variety of venues where they perform: not just cinemas, but clubs, theatres, churches and public spaces. The story of the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra, where young Arabs and Jews perform and live side by side. This is a film about what music can do; the way it can transcend cultural barriers, bring people together, defeat prejudice and overcome religious and political differences. For Daniel Barenboim, founder of the ensemble, the orchestra is a symbol for what could be achieved in the Middle East.

HomeGrown: HipLife in Ghana, is a feature-length documentary about V.I.P. (Vision In Progress). The film documents ten years of their journey from the ghetto in Accra to their first international tour. They grow from being teenagers with a shared dream to musicians with fans around the world. Since finishing the film in 2008 film director Eli Jacobs-fantauzzi has been attending festival screenings in Africa, Hawaii, Amsterdam, New York and now Ffilmic in Llanfyllin. As one of our directors in residence Eli will be at the screening to discuss the making of the film.

Specially commissioned for the 2007 Manchester International festival, Kapital is a unique collaboration between acclaimed young British writer and director Greg Hall and critically renowned composer and musician Steve Martland. Kapital is a gothic and uncompromising look at the darker crevasses of human nature and society. Following a cross section of characters lives, interweaved in a mosaic form over the turbulent course of one day, as they all deal with the demons and angels that haunt their harsh realities. An apocalyptic vision of modern day existence.
Ffilmic are pleased to welcome back Greg Hall as one of our directors in residence to introduce the film and discuss the collaborative approach to working with composer Steve Martland.

Film workshops for all ages will happening from 12 - 4pm in the Youth & Community Centre, Llanfyllin. Just drop in or stay for the day!
Have a go at either drawn or cut out animation and then edit your own animation! or Create a filmic comic strip, create a story line, create the scene and then photograph it!
Short Films - What's the Point? @ Theatr Llwyn

An industry led panel discussion on the future and purpose of short film making. This event will be of great interest to anyone who has an interest in short films either as a film maker or watcher of films. So please come armed with your questions!
Panel guests will include our resident directors Eli Jacobs-Fantauzzi & Greg Hall, Film Agency Wales representative Eve White, Course leaders in film and TV from Glyndwr & Aberystwyth Universities plus screenings from BAFTA CYMRU.
